October 27th, 2020

2020-2021 Academic School Year -

A new school year is approaching and with COVID-19 still ongoing, it is important for our Education System/School Districts to come up with a new plan in order for students to safely return to the classrooms. Allocating and prioritizing education is important to shape kids into future leaders.

Irvine Unified School District has have been proactively working and has allocated more than $21 million for the health and safety measures in re-opening the schools. There are many changes that will be implemented to develop the best practices to follow in order to open.

There are plenty of resources provided by the Public Health Department, Orange County Education Department, School Districts, and more for parents, students, staff/faculty, students, and the community to learn and practice these new guides, plans and programs to re-open our education system.

Please see the Reopening In-Person Learning Framework released by the California Department of Public Health approved by our Governor - Gavin Newsom:

COVID-19 Update: Supporting our Local Heroes

September 28th, 2020

Supporting Our Local Essential Workers

As we gradually progress in opening up the economy again, we are reminded of how much time has passed since COVID-19 started and how crucial it is to work together and support one another in order to persevere through the pandemic.

At the start of COVID-19, Governor Newsom executed the “Stay At Home Order,” and government officials selected different industry sectors and listed them as, “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers.” These few selected industry sectors could maintain their functions and operations because they are crucial in ensuring the people’s public health and safety, as well as providing economic and national security.

Some of the critical essential workers are: First Responders, Doctors, Law Enforcement, Food and Agriculture suppliers/farmers, Essential Stores (Groceries, Pet Stores, Etc.) and Construction, Transportation, and many more. For more detail and information on the full list of sectors, please click the following link below:

“Not All Superheroes Wear Capes”

When COVID-19 was still unfamiliar and the death tolls were on the rise, many essential workers risked their lives every day and continued to go to work to provide services that were needed in order to protect the people, our nation and to find a way to beat COVID-19. We are so grateful for all the brave individuals who have been protecting us and in return, we would like to show our support to them.

Healthy Practices to Protect Yourself

hand+washing.jpg

Wash Your Hands Often

Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds - especially after you have been in a public place or after blowing your nose, sneezing, or coughing. An alternative is using hand sanitizer (60%+ alcohol base)

Mask.jpg

Wear a Face Covering

In a public setting or when being around those who you do not see everyday, please wear a mask/cloth on your face that covers your mouth and nose. The mask is meant to protect you and others you may come in contact with.

Icon-Social-Distancing.jpg

Social Distancing

Maintain a 6 feet distance between people in your household who are sick and when in public places. Please keep in mind that not everyone shows symptoms when infected so maintaining a distance is for your safety.
